Howdy Evan,

>Congrats. Working in a hospital (like most government type employees) we got 0%, 0% and cost of living (1.5%) for the last 3 years.

Since I was once again self-employed (sounds better than unemployed) beginning in mid-December, when the year ended I gave myself a bonus: a couple of extra days off. :-)

>Working with VFP and ASP.NET (C#) 50/50 now. Looking at moving to more SQL Server, so my Visual FoxPro percent will decrease a bit. I can't see abandoning Visual FoxPro for heavy lifting in the business tier.

Even on projects that don't involve .NET, you can certainly leverage your Fox experience to also talk to SQL Server. Gaining SQL Server experience was one of the great takeaways from my time at EPS and I now have that as another tool in the toolbelt to be used as needed.

FWIW, I think every VFP developer should take the time to work with SQL Server on a personal project or two just to learn how it works and be ready for the jobs that need it, whether by specification or by technical requirement.
