Thanks Selin,

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
well you kind a have a point here , but take a look at the help

Remarks
The OpenTables method loads the data environment tables when the AutoOpenTables property of the data environment is set to false (.F.) or if the data environment has been unloaded using the CloseTables method. The OpenTables method acts like an event, that is it is called automatically if autoOpenTables = .T..

I have a bad english , but this is write very ugly.
What it wanted to say who has written the help is:

You can use the OpenTables method to loads or reloads the data environment tables when the AutoOpenTables property ...

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I set the AutoOpenTable to .F. and neither the OpenTables or BeforeOpenTables fired, this should mean that the OpenTable should be a Method instead of an Event, meanning that the OpenTable "Method" should be called by the programmer instead of firing itself as a event.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I Known this, and the fact that AutoOpenTable a On/Off flag is one for OpenTables and BeforeOpenTables
events it have no influence on this question, it is only a repeat remark Of the previous paragraph.
On VFP any object procedure is a Method ( a can call Click,Resize,.... ), and write this
for AutoOpenTable and BeforeOpenTables is useles.

>maybe this could be called a Bug.

Sure one ugly chosen.
