Wow...great question. I spent a good amount of time tonight trying to figure out what's going on here and am still puzzled. I did determine that this behavior doesn't occur if I comment out the code in CTextBox that automatically sets the InputMask. That said, if I then hard-code the InputMask to 50 X's, the behavior rears its ugly head again. It almost seems as if something is happening at the VFP level because I don't see any MM code that is doing this...I'll look into it further and let you know what I discover!
