The January 1998 FoxPro Advisor has an article about how to create scrollbars as custom classes in VFP.

I've tried several of the OCXs available and they all have little quirks that make them less than satisfactory. I'm planning to switch to native VFP scroll bars as soon as I have time.

One annoying problem with the OCXs is that they dissappear when the contained window is enlarged or if a modal form is opened over the form containing the OCX. The OCX developer claims that this is a bug in Microsoft's ActiveX support DLLs.
