I'm *very* sure most of us agree that mom-and-pop stores that use their pc for quickbooks and/or POS would (rightly) regard a vendor as daft if they proposed a full C/S implementation. I know of at least one millionaire who has *thousands* of these stores still using FP2.x apps. These customers never appear in case studies or vendor slogans, same as the small companies responsible for most employment never appear in the business news. So, for those whose "experience" consists of articles they have read, vendor releases, things their friends tell them and censored case-studies, even with the utmost intellectual willpower there will be irresistable gravitation towards the easy answers that make a lot of sense if you are allowed to make up customers to prove your point.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
