I think it is a cold way to deal with the lives of soldiers/civilians lost in war. It should be left to video games".
Being a Vietnam vet is something I cannot forget. We lost 58,000 of our troops in Vietnam and we killed (according to some reports) 5.1 million Vietnamese. The body count was given once a week as if it was some sort of game. The numbers included killed Vietnamese men, women and children. Sometimes I think the water buffalo were included.
When I got out of the service I remember Walter Cronkite giving the weekly kill numbers, with great pride. Vietnamese 1005, Americans 5. Sounds like a heck of a game. This is a case of the lowest number “wins”.
