I hope someone has a better solution because the only things I can think of are:

1) Create a timer in your app that periodically accesses the network drive (maybe checks for the existence of a file or writes one or gets the time or whatever).
2) Check the client configuration (how it handles timeouts). In Novell for instance, you can configure the amount of time before the client software forces a reconnect to the server. I do not know how wireless works for maintaining connections though. I know that at home to keep my ip address from dropping I have my email check for new email every 5 minutes which is similar to how adding a timer to your vfp app would work...
