You need two forms. A "pre" form that launches and establishes the private DS. Which by your existing Load method will have turned TALK OFF. In the Init you'd launch your real form. But your real form needs to be set to default ds instead of private ds. This will allow it to open within the already altered ds of the pre form.

This isn't anything new, VFP has always worked like this.

>Interesting trick, if I recall correctly, we put it in the Load() as it is the closest point to put it for the form instantiation as, when defining the baseform class, we cannot have access to the DE. Is there something new in regards to that in VFP 8?
