Thanks for your comments David. This is pretty much what I thought to begin with, but it quickly became apparent that most of the time this window was going to be empty and I would have to keep minimising it (I have a tidy desk-top policy <g>).

As I usually have the full Visual Source Safe app running in the background on my machine anyway (I have many more things other than fox projects in there) would I be able to see in the VSS results window any errors which occured by manipulating files through Fox, by just ALT+TAB-ing ? Presumably it is relatively simple to spot that an operation did not work, so the contents of the results window are simply telling you why...

Just an idea : let me know what you think.
