If more are going to .Net instead of staying with VB6, then I think they will be better off in the long run. Unlike VFP developers, they "basically" have no choice but to move on. At least you can still create desktop apps with .Net.

>OIC. What I find funny is that when FoxPro had a similar upgrade as VB had (when it passed from FoxPro 2.6 to VFP), there were not a lot of request to upgrade the old FoxPro 2.6... I'm sure that the majority of the FoxPro developers who made the shift to VFP don't miss the old FoxPro. Does the die-hard VB developers even tried VB.NET before whining? I am sure more interested in VB.NET than VB 6.

>>I was talking about their product not their job market. The die-hard VB developers whine more than "we" do because MS is not releasing new versions of VB like they are VFP. We have had 2 and soon to be 3 versions released since their last version. I said their product is deader than VFP, not necessarily their market. However, I think [e.g., opinion onlly] their market now is moving to maintenance of legacy apps and less new apps.
