We made various client-server application with C# or VB versus SQLServer.
They are very slowly, compared with the same VFP. Smart firms do not interested from tools, which you use if you guarantee lifetime support.
This give them advantage aginst competition using modern languages.
The end user like to receive their data as fast as possible and the do not care from MS strategies.
As example Varna Energy supply Company the new moder IT manager decide to replace old FP2.5 apps with VB.Net/SQLServer and fail. Youcould guess what happens.
IT managers slowly disappointed from new well advertised tools and return to well working technologies.
