Hello Rod, what a surprise!

>>1. John and I worked at 6 Flags for around 4 years. During this time we built approximately 10 enterprise applications.

Great! Nobody denies that there was a time when JVP did heaps of good work.

>>2. John worked with me and Jim Duffy on what is arguably the biggest VFP application in existance now.

Cool. When was that?

>>#11 is First Premier Bankcard an application that I helped architect and John, Duffy and a bunch of other people helped with.

Aha! Using SP, I take it? I'd say this is a sample where SP makes great sense, since rapid inserts are the order of the day. That explains something for me.

>>3. John worked with me on a .NET/SQL project for an advertising company.

Just the one, then? What did it do?

Great list, Rod, but I really don't see grounds here for the claimed authority in advice given to others. Just one dotNET app? What about converting VFP apps to dotNET? What about the mom-and-pop apps using SQL Server?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
