I still don't see any reason not to trap the Function Keys right in the KeyPress event as I do. Am I missing something? I mean get rid of the SET FUNC "F4" and the ON KEY LABEL F4 ON KEY and just trap -3 in the KeyPress event.

I have OKLs for a few alt combinations and execute functions just as you are doing. I haven't had any trouble with this. Sergey's trick of substituting a fairly unique value and trapping that in KeyPress is more kosher.
