I'd like to recommend two sources that I found quite valuable in learning what ADO.NET could do...

One is "Essential ADO.NET" by Bob Beauchemin. The reading is pretty dry, but it is PACKED with information on usage of many ADO.NET functions.

The second is the "VFP for .NET Developers" by Kevin M. and Cathi Gero.
