I think the advice of Martín is the way to go. If I can add something (it's hard to add to Matín's), even try to develop always (or change from time to time) in non standard Windows colors. This way you will avoid those labels and other elements that keep the standard 192,192,192 (I've seen not a few applications that mess colors when user changes Windows colors).
I even have in my personal classes labels turned to transparent (instead of the opaque VFP default).
