If you succeed to force you present company to pay for your SQLServer cources and you get MCP - 70-229 you will be still valuable for your present company.
If you simultaneously self-train and past 2 VFP exams till end of June you will have real possibility to become MCSD passing 70-300. In this case you will be valuable not only for your present company but will be able to find good job in UK.
During your studing you can hunt for good job possition in VFP/SQL area.
