AccPac Pro Series is not a 'shrink wrap' package. It's a source code package that is designed for a high level of customization. You don't buy a source code accounting package and pay a whole bunch extra unless you plan to do some custom development.
>
I know what AccPac pro is...it used to be SBT (which by the way is not in the pantheon of well-written software).
Nonetheless, out of the box, you can work with it. But I see your point about distinquishing it from classic shrink-wrapped software.

Nobody goes out and writes an entire accounting system from the ground up.

Agreed.

I've also found that convincing managment of VFP is not the problem. They don't care what their system is written in as long as it works. Most problems are working with existing IT departments who tend to care more about what the tool is than management types.

Then what was your comment about when you said the hard part is educating management?
>My point would be not to pick a battle over a tool anyway.

Do you also go to all the Paradox, Delphi, and Powerbuilder forums and tell them their time spent with those tools is worthless and the products are doomed? Or is it just VFP you have a problem with?

Understand then when people put general questions on the table, I respond and offer my opinion. You can't my opinion is any less solicted than your opinion in those cases.
