Dear JVP

You ask why don't I:

>>1. Prepare a case study?

Because that's anecdote and surely you've noticed that I see little value in anecdote- it proves nothing except for people whose position is identical.

>>2. Speak at Devcon?

Because there are far more enthusiastic and expert speakers than I when it comes to talking to developers about VFP.

>>3. Help bank-roll some of the marketing ideas that people have outlined?

You mean trying to get MS to market VFP more? Well, some of us had a real go in 1995 and I'd like to think we had an impact. Even Jeff Winchell helped in his own way by calling MS liars in the press! But these days, Ken Levy has said that VFP marketing is a company-wide issue, and I'm not about to single-handedly tilt at that particular windmill- especially given that ever since Powerbuilder tanked, and since the data is in SQL Server, my customers don't care what's under the hood as long as it works. The only people who comment are MS reps. I think I said the above in the Wiki in 2001.

>>4. Approach MS about purchasing VFP?

If owning FP on that basis were viable, I doubt Dr Dave would have sold it. And I doubt MS would sell it.

Regards

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
