Well now, I would not go that far if your intial points include me being a "gay basher" - which is inapprorpate. That said, with respect to this comment by you:

I will give you one example of an application where VFP probably is the best solution. For one of my companies I have made an 'electronic catalogue' which is a CD we send to all our 4000 customers. The CD contains the application plus about 10 DBFs plus roughly 65000 pictures. With the application our customers can easily find the correct produts, make an order and send as a web service to my company. The biggest DBF has 620,000 records and is 30MB, piece of cake for VFP. Can you give me any reason to even consider another programming language? No, I don't want to hear. We have confirmation from our customers that about 4000 customers use the application every day. In Norway we have a population of 4.5 million people, so how many custom applications have 230,000 users in USA? And without any need for technical support whatsoever?

FWIW, I agree that VFP is a great solution for this. Is it the best? I don't know - and you really don't know either. But, it is good enough, and that is all that counts. Keep in mind that at no time, have I ever advocated that people dump VFP without regard to their specific situation. Further, there is a big difference between shrink-wrapped software and custom software development.
