hmmm...both your idea and Bonnie's idea are interesting. Thanks, I'll try them out.
What I did in the past (more with the combobox and datetime control) was that when either was 'disabled', I would make it invisible, and would actually place a textbox overtop the control, set the text to the value or text property of the 'parent' control, and set it to readonly.
That way, it had the nice 'disabled' background color that I wanted.
But yeah, it's a real kludge. I'm gonna try both of yours out. Thanks!
