I haven't confirmed this with my own test, but is it possible that you are not using a READ EVENTS? Without a READ EVENTS and if your form was non-modal, the EXE would run, flash up the screen and then end. I don't know what would happen if the form is modal - perhaps the behavior you are seeing. (?)
