>but I find Jim's banging on you is aiming at the wrong target, to say it that way. At least this time.
I was going to jump in myself as that is the exact same view I had of Jim's post, and not only Jim's post, there have been some very strong posts made recently against JVP.
I can't see any good in attacking JVP and his posts, what good will that do? None, the only thing it would do, if it was me anyway, would be provoke him. I would rather see some constructive arguments that don't start drifting below the belt, if John makes a technical statement or view on a subject then I feel this needs to be responded with an argument against the statement being made - not JVP himself.
I can understand why some people get "emotionally" affected by some of JVP's comments, but then the truth hurts doesn't it? < j/k >
It seems to me that when a positive statement about .Net is being made most people assume his intention is to overshadow VFP - which is total b*ll*cks IMO, why can't 2 languages be good, equal, or 1 better than the other, I can't see what crime is being committed.
As for people annoyed by JVP's attitude, if that's the case, don't respond, don't even read, this forum is here for the IT industry, it's not a ******* friendly social gathering.
