Title:
Earthlink Totalaccess
What do people think of Earthlink's Totalaccess software? A sysadmin I know called it "a whole bunch of crap, which has to be installed all together, not letting you pick and choose, including a non-standard proprietary email client, and a few tools that are actually useful." I'm interested to know how useful it is to technical or non-technical users.
When it first came out, I read a newspaper review which said that some important features didn't work well, or that there were installation glitches. One potentially useful feature that wasn't working well was its synchronization between the desktop and web-based address books. This feature was intended to support the challenge/response anti-spam feature.
Perhaps Totalaccess has utilities, such as spam filters, that can be found elsewhere and installed separately.
