You are definitely ahead of me with VFP implementation, although we have similar application - Engineering / Manufacturing.
My tables are still less than 100K records, but I do link to a backend SQL Server which is mirrored from a CA INGRES database. My processing does not take more than a few of minutes.
You are right about VFP as a front end. I can deliver a new module to the system within a few hours, so it difficult for me to have the motivation to mobe to VB or C#.
