The menu bar define the Key as well?

In My menu I have Cut, Copy & Paste possibilities w/ (_MED_CUT, _MED_COPY, _MED_PASTE), but when I Press Ctrl+C, V or X selected text is disapearing & a little square appears on its place (but the right mouse button works). How to cut, copy or paste w/ keyboard?
