The choice of toolset is not nearly as determinative as how well the "design" will transfer to the web. For example, a VFP-Class that relied on cursors - that consuming forms could "see" - those classes - in their current states - had to be re-worked to get them into COM. The issue? Encapsulation. Any VFP class that opened cursors that outside entities could interact with violated encapsulation. In the COM world - encapsulation becomes more of a mandate that you cannot get around with respect to VFP cursors.
