It depends. Number of transactions - size of data - type of app - quality of network will all play a role on this.

It depends on what needs to be accomplished. If the app needed to be migrated to C/S - then VB would be the choice of a front-end. As for the middle tier - doing it in VFP would be a choice. Or - doing it in VB. Once again, it would depend an several factors. If the app could stay file server based - I would opt to do it all in VFP.
