Here I think not all customers are created equal: The "mom and pop" from another thread - .net no question.
Large enterprises still using mainframes: java looks quite logical to them -
even if there is much "politics" mixed into the logic.
Large enterprises are IMHO better suited to move to linux and/or other OS products first,
because they already have training programs in place, which "just have to be changed".

I see more of the "strategy" business than pure "number counting" business -
but "number counting" business might also be seen as a "technical" approach <g>.

Even if this was always true, being the logical choice hardly means winning for sure.
Keeping an ear to the ground is at least good tactics -
a good strategy might be nonexistant at the moment.
