Funny thing is, Joel runs a Java shop... and they basically have a 'CLR', it's called the virtual machine. It also has to be installed on the PC before you can run the java app.

So, I'm not sure what his point is.

FYI: I think Widby will include a pro-compiler.. but, that isn't a linker... the compiled code would still link dynamically at runtime in the CLR.
