They didn't even know how to make ice when I was young. They just kept it from the previous winter! <g> Just kidding!
>I don't really want to give away my age, ...........but, I remember a horse and wagon coming to the house on a regular basis to deliver a large block of ice for our ice box. The driver would always chip off good size hunks and give to us kids, especially during the summer.
