Wasn't there a message on the UT or a statement somewhere by Ken that if the programmer purchased an UPDATE not a full new version then the programmer could use the previous version of the development tool for a reasonable time in order to assist the programmer with porting existing apps to the new version? My personal opinion (and that is all it is) is that it was allowed for that small period of time due to the times when a form for instance that was done in VFP7 would not even open up in VFP8 in development mode so the programmer would have to open the form up in VFP7 and modify the offensive code so VFP8 would accept it and allow the developer to open the form.

[I have clients that are using a package that is delivered in VFP 6 but later this year will be delivered in VFP 8 and I would like them to own the development tools]
