If you buy a new version eg VFP8 then you can continue to develop in any other version that you have also bought previously.


[I have clients that are using a package that is delivered in VFP 6 but later this year will be delivered in VFP 8 and I would like them to own the development tools]

Your clients can run your app using VFP runtime dll's but you may not give them a copy of the full VFP product. ie. if they buy your program they do not "own the development tools" it was made with.
