A splash screen is something that is displayed while the application load and it seem to be what you are bringing forth. There is no other way I know of than to do it with a form, so you are on the right track. I was mentionning this because of the name of the second form you were calling and to warn you that in that case you don't need a READ EVENTS after it, since there is no interaction with the user.
