When I think back I'm still amazed at what we got as throughput back then. If it had been planned it would have been rejected as an impossible pipe-dream.
But what actually happened was that the company (an initial long-distance provider when market opened up here) grew exponentially so fast that it just happened. Sure we had to dig to find the Storageworks hardware and it was our salvation.
One thing I forgot to mention... all user systems (users of the FP application that is) except approx 20 had diskless systems. That means around 200 diskless units.
