Thanks Al.
Perhaps if I explain what I want to do you or somenone else could give me an idea ...
Many of my customers still have dot matrix printers. Since my reports are all simple text, I would like those printers to print fast, in character mode. Unfortunately, setting printer to Generic Text does not do the trick (text gets out of whack for unknown reasons), so I'd like to send the report to a file, move it to a string and then ??? lcString, but only when the printer is matrix.
If I could tell what the printer driver is from within VFP I could use "Generic / Text Only" as a signal that printer is dot matrix ... hmmm.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Alex
