Yeah, I can open the table and browse it just fine. If I do a "modify structure" I can see the index is there just as it should be. And most of the time the index works just fine when used in the program. But every once and a while the program will decide it's never heard of the index and refuse to use it.

The error log is something built into the application. It takes the errors and keeps track of them. I can view them and it will tell me what the error is and what module. That error is the one that says it doesn't know the variable .
