>>It is shameful. I believe the overal budget is $2.6 trillion. This exceeds the estimated amount to be collected through taxes by $500 billion. The $2.6 trillion budget means an average of $10,000 will be spent on each US citizen. I can tell you right now, my family of four is NOT getting our money's worth.

>But this is just for the current (or following?) fiscal year. Where's the accrued debt?

The $500 Billion is just the budget deficit for that budget which is for fiscal year 2005 that begins October 1st of this year. Each budget deficit contributes to the overall accrued debt or National Debt which continues to spiral.

I had hopes that with a Republican controlled Congress [both houses] and White House for the first time since President Eisenhower that budgets and spending would be brought under control. Congress was controlled by Democrats for 40 years until 1994 and could not control themselves regardless of the White House. Know we have just proved that neither party can control themselves, so it is time to vote against EVERY incumbent EVERY time until we get a crew that will control themselves and do the right thing.

>Or maybe USA is already partially owned by money lenders, so they have the power to decide to increase the debt, to increase their share to the point of 50.1%, eh?
