I've actually spent quite a bit of time "getting" it, though by no means have I "got it". The real confusion is that I'm trying to draw working comparisons between apples and oranges. I realize that everyone recommends trashing and re-writing and (other than running the old code as is under VFP) I certainly see why. Trying to tweak the old stuff so it runs after conversion is impossible (for me anyway). It's like trying to remodel a house instead of leveling and starting from scratch.

Since my old stuff will run under VFP, it appears that that's the way for me to go. While I'm a firm believer in "if it ain't broke...", FPW2.6 crashes when running at the same time with certain other software (even after I bought the "book" on running it under modern Windows). So I figure I'll run the old under VFP AND gradually rewrite the old @say/get's (which are so "ugly" they upset my karma <g>) in VFP.

Since my pre-TRO stuff is non-TROish, I currently have the two app systems separate. So now I'll have three! Whoopie!
