Mike,
Here's what I'll say about this:

1. You can still run and maintain VFP applications on the Windows platform.
2. You can maintain FoxPro 2.x Windows and 2.x DOS applications on the Windows platform.
3. You can build apps in any of these tools and they will work fine.

4. Perception = Reality - Face it VFP has 0 mindshare in the world today. The mindshare is now turned to .NET, Java, Linux and the languages/tools that are pervasive on those platforms.

Corporations and their management have bigger decisions to make and longer term decisions to make. You cant find VFP developers very easily today. But you can find .NET and Java developers.

When a manager is looking for developers and there are no VFP people to be found they can a) create their own VFP developer or b)change to a more viable platform where developers can be found.

You pick on the .NET parts of my post. I did list a bunch of other open source items as well. Guess you approve of those tools ?
