Luis,

I work with the idea that "yes, there will be VFP10, VFP11 etc". Why? During long 14 years I heard "COBOL is dead!, COBOL is dead!" (while working with it). No longer work with COBOL (althought there is a NetExpress version of it, it STILL isn't dead).

What does it mather if there will be a VFP10 or not? I still have FoxPro DOS programs running. If there will not be a VFP10 you'll leave VFP8 NOW?

Is dotNet your option? Read this:

"...They have been an unmitigated disaster for everyone who has invested in them. Wrox Publishing, a huge promoter of .NET books in 2002, went out of business when the flood they unleashed on the market were all returned in January of 2003. Another publisher with a major .NET investment barely escaped the same blood bath, and admitted that they didn't have a single money maker in the batch. I couldn't compete with the big boys - indeed, in meetings with Microsoft in 2003, I was advised repeatedly to stay out of the .NET market, as there were already over 300 books planned by other publishers."

You want to be part of the "disaster" right now? Just beacause...

Think about this: if you are a proficient programmer, from the time MS announces "VFP IS DEAD!" until the time where will be no space left for VFP apps you'll have enough time to learn a new tool to be used instead of VFP, don't you?

I work with computer programming for 30 years, in this time learn many programming languages and can say that in a maximum of one year can learn a new one. I'm not an expert, never was and never will, but think still can feed my family and ever will.

We use to say in Brazil: "the one that dies in the eve is the turkey" (the eve of Christmas), meaning that you shouldn't suffer (or die) before the "disgrace" happens.

I don't know if the above means anything to you, but I can say: I don't have any plans to leave VFP!

Regards,

Fernando

>Hi, I know VFP9 will be out to the market this year, I know that VFP 8 will be supported until 2010, but I wan't to know, will be VFP 9 the last version?
