Hi All,

I need to find out if a certain application was installed on the server from my ASP.NET application. The existence of this certain application determines what icons to display on my aspx page.

I’m assuming I need to check the web server’s registry. I haven’t had much experience dealing with registry values so I’m not sure what methods to use to get what I want. This application seems to install itself under LocalMachine\Software.

One of the other developers suggested using a Try/Catch block around the instantiation of this application object. Is this a kludge or a viable solution? It seem to me like a kludge.

TIA,
Jacci
