Thanks for the response, but let me explain further.

Client 1 is selling parts to a customer. The Client 1 pulls up a pick list of ALL inventory with current balances. He selects Record 1, 6, 55, ..... to sell to the customer and then prints an invoice (which updates the inventory balances)

Client 2 is in another city selling parts to a customer. The Client 2 pulls up a pick list of ALL inventory with current balances. He selects some of the same records to sell to the customer and then prints an invoice (which updates the inventory balances)

This is the way our software works now. We want to make the transition to SQL Server as invisible as possible. How does any Client/Server setup keep large pick lists up to date. (Note: New parts are being added constantly, so the list is dynamic)
