Your car analogy is humorous, but doesn't quite cut it. Not having a built-in obfuscator for .NET is not analogous to a new car with bad brakes. Obfuscating is just an extra step you must do before you distribute your application ... to me that's more analogous to steps you need to go through when you're putting together an installation package, both are necessary evils. I'm pretty sure that the process of obfuscating will become easier with future versions.
