860830release of .NET for desktop in next OS is ANOTHER beast (= rewrite actual winform, if want leverage the plataform, because winform is "deprecated" because AVALON) and this is not the bad thing(because a a kind of upgrade path exist)The thing I don't know, what it does mean for existing applications. Is it easy upgradable or do you need a rewrite to use the latest cool features just like the move from VB6 to VB.NET. Unless that is clear I don't see any reason for a VFP developer switch to .NETs' winforms. VFP will be arround long enough to see make the switch at that time if neccesary.
Now, if they only could improve their data handling in .NET by introducing a VFP like local database engine..... < G >
