Thanks for the input. I tried adding the Sys(2333,0) to the load event of my form. Now instead of getting a null character back from the HitTest Method , I get a null object. Any other ideas?

I did see a reference to some features not working in VFP and having to code them in VB in a sample called TreeWrap which I downloaded from Microsoft. The lovely thing about that sample is that it crashes VFP as soon as I try to open the form.
