John,

>> - Advocating an understanding of Codd & Date’s work on relational theory.
>Well...if you want, pick up a copy of the book I wrote and you will see what I have to say about Codd and Date....< bg >...

Now I have to buy your book and read through all nonsense and terrorism to find one or two sensible remarks ?

>> - Advocating use of SQL instead of xBase style DML, in particular an emphasis on ANSI SQL.

>This does not even warrant a response as the record is clear that I advoate SQL as a backend...

Sighh... One of the classic JVP blunders. You don't knwo what you're talking about are you ?
The point is about SQL style DML, it is definately not about the specific implementation. You can do SQL DML in VFP and you could do Record oriented DML in SQL server. you don't seem to understand the difference between apples and oranges < g >.

>Sorry Houston...what was your question.... When you have a few books under your belt, 50+ articles, and a few conference presentations under your belt....then maybe, just maybe, you will be able to cast a few stones my way....

I don't see any relevance in this. As you've shown any idiot can do this. It is by no means a measure of quality.
