>>To those listening in, I don't have to back up or substantiate anything I say here so don't bother fishing for an argument.Eric,
I'm not fishing for an argument, but I'd just like to make one comment about this:
>>I would also add that it seems as though the members of the MS developer community that are most eager to jump on the latest bandwagon are those among us that make a pretty good living doing nothing but writing and speaking (and teaching) about new technologies.<I don't know how true or not that statement is in the general community, but in my case it's not. We switched to .NET for the simple reason that we started a new company two years ago, so we had to write a new application from scratch ... what better time to dig in and learn the new, latest technology? No baggage of converting an old VFP app to .NET, since we no longer had the old VFP app. We got the opportunity to start fresh with new ideas. It's been a fun (and frustrating) experience. And it's kinda funny, but everyone we talk to about buying our software just loves "our technology", or so they say anyway.
Just my 2 cents ...
