Not sure as I don't know your code logic. However, there are certain places that the replace and save would be done.

Have you downloaded from the CodeMine site the old CodeMine 6.x doc's and see how the old tutorial did some of the above? It might give you a hint as to the best way to do some of this (I mentioned this as I think you said you were still using the cmDataManager). Or, perhaps you should give Dave at CodeMine a call.
