Through a VFP7 application I am copying a number of large files (over 1GB each) and I need the ability to provide the option to abort the process at the users request. Using the COPY FILE command, a DOEVENTS and an Abort command button I am unable to abort the copy process while a file is being copied. The DOEVENTS fires (and the process aborts) only after the file is completely copied over. Users are frustrated because they press the Abort button repeatedly and it looks like nothing is happening since they have to wait for the rather large file to finish copying before the application can respond to their request. Is there an Active X out there or Windows API command that invokes something like MS Windows own copy file box with the nice status bar and Cancel button and the cool animated graphic of the paper flying across the window from one folder to the next?
