I looked at that thread and your hints and took a slightly different route.

VFP Automation and DoCmd() lie outside the space of things I want to do in my web-app build,ftp,update utility, there is enough going on with wininet etc...

 lcCommand = [build exe ]+lcExe+[ from ]+lcProj+[ recompile]
 execscript( m.lcCommand )

works for me (for now). Can anyone say "FoxKluge" ?
